Kantha quilts are hand sewn blankets made of recycled cotton saris (a traditional, flowing women’s garment in India) stitched together…every piece is stitched to the next, edges are hand sewn, and they are hand quilted. Soft, snuggly, and perfectly imperfect…these are a wonderful and unique addition to your bedroom.

Size: Queen (88 x 96 inches)
Design: As Shown (photo #1)

These are fair trade, made by women working at home looking to make additional income for their families. These are NOT the blankets you see on Amazon or eBay. Aside from being higher quality, many so-called Kanthas are produced commercially and/or not in India…funds from sales are directly helping people who work hard and live under difficult conditions. The ladies making these are given the fabric already purchased in bulk, and paid per blanket (pay price depending on size). Imperfections, loose cotton quilting threads, small stains, holes and patches should be expected!

Care Instructions: Wash by hand or on gentle cycle, air or tumble dry.

*Please note: The fabric used to make these blankets has never seen a washing machine so any staining will be reduced or removed when washed. Blankets are treated with an insect deterrent for safe delivery to the US from India, wash and dry 2-3 times before use to remove (add vinegar to detergent to speed up the process).
